The Natural Latex Process

Step 1: Compounding
In a temperature-controlled, stainless steel tank, a batter is created of liquid latex, rubber curing agents, and soaps.

Step 2: Molding
The batter is then moved to the pressroom, where it is whipped into a frothy substance and placed in an aluminum pincore mold and vacuum-sealed.

Step 3: Flash Freeze
By freezing the batter at -20 degrees, particles are prevented from settling, and a consistent cell structure is ensured. (Flash freezing is a process unique to the Talalay Process).

Step 4: Heated to Gel into Solid Form
In order to turn the recipe into a frothy state, CO2 is added with temperatures exceeding 220 degrees. The mold is cured, baking it into a solid state.

Step 5: Cooling
This simple process is meant to cool the solid latex so it can be removed from the mold.

Step 6: Fresh Water Rinse to Purify
The removed mold is then placed on a conveyor belt to bring it through a fresh water washer in five different stages. It is meant to remove latex proteins, residual soaps, and curing agents. (The fresh water rinse is a process unique to the Talalay Process).

Step 7: Curing
The mattress is taken through a two-lane dryer to remove any residual moisture.

Step 8: Quality Testing
Only the very best pass the stringent test and quality standards, and they test every one. Once the mattress is dry, it undergoes a nine-point firmness consistency test as well as an infrared scan.
